The Regents Scholar Society (RSS) is a student-run organization comprised of all UCLA students that are awarded the Regents Scholarship. The Regents Scholarship, which includes a variety of benefits, is offered to the top 1.5% of applicants per year.
Our society operates, programs, and provides resources that fall under our 3 core pillars - Scholarship, Service, and Leadership. Holding true to this motto, RSS strives to arrange a multitude of professional workshops, run numerous community service events and programs, and provide plenty of opportunity for scholars to serve as leaders and lend a hand in managing and bettering the Society.
The resources that RSS can provide scholars includes opportunities to learn about research and internships, work on their career skills, and network. Scholars also have the exclusive chance to participate in faculty, alumni, and student mentorship programs. Faculty mentors can help scholars with recommendation letters as well as research and career advice, while alumni and student mentors may offer guidance based on their own experiences at UCLA.
Furthermore, as part of their scholarship, Regents Scholars gain access to a variety of resources and perks. Not only are Regents Scholars awarded a $2000 merit-based honorarium, but they also enjoy priority registration for classes. Regents Scholars are also guaranteed on-campus housing for four years and on-campus parking permits should they wish to apply and as long as they meet all deadlines and restrictions.
