Please read the attached file for more details on the position; to apply, send a CV and cover letter to hoggjr@mail.nih.gov. As a current IRTA/past RSSer, I highly recommend this program for anyone interested in additional research. It looks phenomenal on your CV/resume, offers publication opportunities as well as the chance for very detailed and personal letters of recommendation, and is just a fun, paid research opportunity. Job at Neurosurgery Brain Tumor Nanotechnology Lab

Posted Nov 19th 2011

Hi Everyone!

I'm currently doing research under Dr. Isaac Yang at the UCLA Neurosurgery Brain Tumor Nanotechnology Lab and our lab will have openings for undergraduate researchers in the future! Our goal is to fight brain cancer through:

  1. Researching the use of bioengineered vault nanoparticles as immunotherapy treatment for glioblastomas
  2. Researching meningioma, vestibular schwanomma, and ependymoma treatment
  3. Researching quality and outcomes of various neurosurgical and post-operative treatments for rare brain tumors

Feel free to browse through our website for more information about who we are and what we do: UCLA Neurosurgery Brain Tumor Nanotechnology Laboratory

My personal experience working in this lab has been absolutely phenomenal, because I was able to see how science research directly translates into real clinical applications. Undergraduates in our lab have the opportunity to get involved in wet lab, clinical outcomes research, paper publication, and shadowing. For anyone interested in entering the health care field, we also have access to some very amazing mentors (physicians, residents, and medical students).

Because we have access to so many opportunities, we are also held to very high expectations. Dr. Yang is looking for exceptional undergraduates who are eager to learn and ready to work hard (which is why I recommended RSS to him =]).

If you are interested in applying to be a part of our lab, please email your CV and a brief cover letter to me at christinahfong@ucla.edu
